Description

Gond art is an artistic genius of one of India’s largest tribes, found predominantly in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. With a strong knack for storytelling, the Gond tribe constitutes the largest Adivasi Community in India, as old as 1400 years. The community held a strong belief that viewing a good image begets good luck, which is the inspiration that can be found in their traditional tattoos and motifs, which they festooned their houses with, representing the close connection between man and nature.

Much like the Gond, the Aborigines of Australia too recorded their history in the form of shapes and figures due to the absence of a definite mode of communication.

This best epoxy table is our attempt at bringing together two major art forms of the popular periods. These works of art have for over centuries been done on textiles, canvases, and other surfaces, masterfully capturing the essence of life, however with our take on the two art forms, we took the plunge to showcase the blending of humans and nature on a carved piece of wood to inspire an unseen and unimagined depth in living spaces.

The tabletop design has been carved out of a grained piece of wood. The waves/snakes have been carved out using a CNC machine. The hand-painted art is inspired by the dot-art style, highlighting the nuances of Aboriginal art. The epoxy resin top has been buffed for shine and preserved with a layer of oil, preventing it from scratches and additional damage.

IMPORTANT – This table is one of its kind and cannot be recreated. We here at Aadhya make hand-painted tables and share an authenticity certificate with our products to ensure originality.
